The Opportunity

Join us on the journey to build up and become part of our maintenance organization. We are looking for a shift-working mechanic to join Hitachi Energy and our business unit specializing in Surge Arresters and Capacitors.

At our Surge Arresters facility in Ludvika, we produce and sell surge arresters. New products are developed here, and our markets are located both in Sweden and globally. An arrester protects against overvoltages and is an essential component in a reliable and energy-efficient power system. At our Capacitors unit, we assemble customer-specific medium and high-voltage capacitors for reactive power compensation and harmonic filtering, as well as manufacture DC capacitors for HVDC applications worldwide.

Both operations feature a high degree of automation with numerous robots, winding machines, electrical testing equipment, process ovens, fixtures, etc. We operate around the clock with multiple production shifts.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on the facility's machinery and equipment.
  • Continuously oversee improvements to the manufacturing process, execute short-term and long-term plans, and actively participate in investment projects.
  • Collaborate with production teams and external suppliers.
  • Work actively with technical documentation and our maintenance system.
  • Contribute to our journey towards world-class maintenance by working systematically and data-driven.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at maintaining and improving equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • You share Hitachi Energy’s core values regarding safety and integrity, meaning you take responsibility for your own actions while also feeling responsible for your colleagues and the business.

Your Background

  • You are driven and solution-oriented with experience in practical work within the mechanical maintenance field. Relevant education is an advantage.
  • You are accustomed to working in an environment where equipment availability is high and where multitasking is required.
  • As a person, we see you as solution-oriented, flexible, and receptive. To succeed in this role, you need to be results-focused and thrive in a production environment.
  • You enjoy working both independently and in a team, and you have a positive attitude towards the tasks you undertake. The role involves shift work.
  • You will work according to high quality standards; therefore, it is important that you are quality-conscious, safety-conscious, and responsible.
  • You must be communicative in both Swedish and English, with the ability to share your knowledge with the rest of the organization.
